Russian forces are gaining control

The control of the Russian army is expanding in various regions, cities, and important installations in Ukraine. On Friday, the ninth day of the attack, Russian forces took control of the Japorzhiya nuclear power plant in the southeastern city of Enerhoda. It is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. Earlier, Russian troops took control of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine.

In addition, Russian forces have taken full control of the southern Ukrainian cities of Kherson and Nova Kakhovka, the southeastern cities of Malitopole, and the eastern Bardiansk. Russian forces are shelling Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, the port city of Mariupol, and the northern cities of Chernihiv and Sumi.

Places to attack

Russian shelling continues in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, northeastern Kharkiv, and southeastern Mariupol. At least 48 people have been killed in Russian shelling in the northern city of Chernihiv. Ukrainian authorities have claimed that they were repulsed by Russian troops entering the southern port city of Mikoleev yesterday.

There were also several explosions on the outskirts of Kyiv yesterday morning. Russia's huge army is advancing towards Kyiv from the north. According to UK intelligence, the fleet is still about 40 kilometers from Kyiv. It is moving slowly due to various reasons including car spare parts and fuel crisis.

The influx of people fleeing Ukraine to escape the war continues. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), more than 1.2 million people have already fled Ukraine to neighboring countries.
